What Are Cookies
A plain explanation
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They allow the site to remember information about your visit — such as whether you have accepted the cookie notice — so that it does not ask you again on your next visit.
Cookies do not contain programs or viruses. They are not used to identify you personally unless you have provided personal information elsewhere on the site. We use cookies sparingly — only where there is a clear functional or analytical purpose.
Cookie Categories
Cookies we use
Essential
Always active — cannot be disabled
These cookies are necessary for the website to function correctly. They include the cookie that records your consent preference so that the notice does not reappear on subsequent visits. No personal data is collected by essential cookies. They are session-based or expire within 12 months.
Analytics
Optional — understand site usage
Where you consent, analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics) collect anonymous data about pages visited, session duration, and general patterns of use. This data is aggregated and not linked to your identity. It helps us understand how the site is used and where to make improvements. Persistent; expire within 26 months.
Marketing
Optional — advertising and tracking
We may use advertising platform pixels (such as Meta Pixel or Google Ads conversion tracking) if active campaigns are running. These are only placed if you consent. They allow us to measure whether a visit resulted from an advertisement. Duration varies by platform.
Preferences
Optional — remember your settings
Preference cookies store non-essential choices you make — for example, display settings or notification dismissals. They improve your experience on return visits without collecting personal data. Persistent; expire within 12 months.
Third-Party Services
Third-party cookies
Where enabled by your preferences, the following third-party services may place cookies on your device. These services have their own privacy and cookie policies, which govern their use of the data they collect:
- Google Analytics — anonymous website usage data (analytics category)
- Google Ads — conversion tracking where advertising is active (marketing category)
- Meta Pixel — advertising conversion measurement where campaigns are active (marketing category)
